about

Bournemouth’s Fortune & Chance returns to Codename: RCRDS with Timeslip // Namesake, featuring two stunning atmospheric DnB tracks from the artist, which are then flipped on their heads with remixes by co-owner Moakz and a label newcomer, fast-rising junglist Eminence.

Timeslip opens the release with futuristic-leaning vocals and synth stabs, before moving into snappy breaks and driving bass to keep you locked into the groove.

Namesake flips things up into a deep introspective tech style – with beautiful evolving riffs interplaying perfectly both with one another and with the warping bass and subtle drums, a perfect track to lose yourself in from start to finish.

The 2nd half of the EP sees the remixers take things in altogether different direction. First Moakz reworks Namesake, stripping back the original elements little and adding gritty drums and a rolling bassline to move the original squarely into dancefloor territory.

Eminence closes the EP with her fascinating take on Timeslip. A building synth hook gradually introduces us to the track before the iconic vocals lead us squarely into dancefloor amen territory, with intricately chopped breaks tearing things out in true Bristolian fashion.
