The year is 2077. Society has collapsed under the control of a brutal dictatorship. The UK is a military state and all uprisings are suppressed. But one last bastion of resistance remains in this Hollow World…through a network of squat raves and free parties…the night ravers control the underground.

Following on from ‘The Night Ravers’, ‘Hollow World EP’ is the second release on Codename: RCRDS, the new label from Southampton-based jungle, 160 and atmospheric crew Codename: Amen. The release and label channel the energy of the 90’s rave era, pushing the sound forward into exciting new directions for 2023.

The EP opens with Trident’s stunning ‘Feel Good’ – a love letter to the jungle raves of bygone eras and the halcyon days of the sound, imbued with the vibes of classic UKG evoking memories of the likes of MJ Cole. The release continues with the infectious ‘Profit’ by Sam Link, which sees the Wisconsin-based breakbeat scientist taking a stripped-down approach with a more traditional stepper, allowing all elements ample space to breathe and play with each other through call and response. Cold Leader contributes the wonky dancefloor destroyer ‘The Hollow Sausage’, ironically packed chock-full of bone, gristle and plenty of chunkiness to keep the crowds moving.
