Dionysus Virus This is such a great EP with wonderful music from everyone but admittedly I came for Trident 🔱 and stayed for Nothing. Specifically the track Cape Horn. The swelling surges, waves of synthesized beauty and the rhythm synths moving through the water pushing it further. This is truly soulful atmospheric drum and bass music. I must hear more from Nothing! This has become one of my favorite pieces of music. ✌️ 💜 Favorite track: Cape Horn.

about

Completing the ‘Drifting…’ trilogy, ‘Drums For A Drifting Rose EP’ is the seventh release on Codename: RCRDS, the new label from Southampton-based jungle, 160 and atmospheric crew Codename: Amen. The release and label channel the energy of the 90’s rave era, pushing the sound forward into exciting new directions for 2023. The ‘Drifting…’ series focusses specifically on more atmospheric / melodic tracks, and once again presents a diverse international roster of artists residing in the UK, Armenia and Finland.

Drums For A Drifting Rose opens with the gorgeous ‘Betrayal’ by fellow south coasters Fortune & Chance feat M Ocean, another evocative dreamy opener which demonstrates the skills and inventiveness of this unique talent. The exceptionally talented Nothing joins the party and keeps things bubbling along nicely on ‘Cape Horn’, a beautiful deep and rolling tech-influencing track perfect for both the headphones and the dancefloor.

The incredible Trident returns to the label with another stunner, the beautiful and evocative ‘World Of Tomorrow’, choc full of musicality and inventiveness once again from this burgeoning producer.

The EP closes with regular Codename: collaborator Mineral switching ‘Cape Horn’ into a different direction, adding extra layers of beauty and sheen to the original to create a truly memorable closure to the series.

Parts 1 and 2 of the trilogy – ‘Songs For A Drifting Rose EP’ and ‘Keys For a Drifting Rose EP’ are out now on Codename: RCRDS.
